#Catfish The TV Show: Episode 14: Cyber Bully Catfish?

Source: MTV

Just another day to find some Catfish, and that's exactly what Nev and Max do on tonight's episode. Falesha writes to Nev and Max for help.

Meet Falesha:

From a small town outside of Pittsburgh, about five years ago she had a bad run in with an online profile of a girl named Jacqueline.

She claims that the account had all pictures of her! Apparently this girl was really rude and insulting to others online. Jacqueline made it worse when she changed her name to Falesha's real name online and started adding her peers from her local high school. Jacqueline, using Falesha's identity started to harass her fellow students by telling people to "Kill themselves."

Falesha explains that she lost a lot of friends at school since most people believed it was her making the rude comments. Falesha did all she could to prove to people that her identity was being used to victimize other people but was having a difficult time doing so. Nev and Max meet Falesha and her mother to hear more of the story.

Her mother explains that she worried for her daughter's mental welfare as this took a toll on her life. Nev and Max start to look at some of the horrible things Jacqueline posted. They quickly realize that this is pretty serious and scary.

Later, Nev and Max start to look at the old profile and comments to see what victims have said. They find a few posts of people talking about their interaction with this Jacqueline account. Nev reaches out to two different girls to get their side of the story.

The first girl, that Nev reaches out to, Danielle, explains that a guy that went to her high school, named Cory was getting harassed by this Jacqueline girl. Eventually, he dropped out of school and currently nobody knows where he is.

The second girl that Nev reached out to, Jennifer, calls up Nev to explain her experience with Jacqueline. Jennifer explains that Jacqueline friend requested her back then and she accepted her because she wanted a high friend count. Once she was accepted, Jacqueline started saying rude things to her.

Knowing this wasn't right, Jennifer made a fake profile herself and used one of her guy friend's photos to lure in Jacqueline. She used the fake profile to flirt with her and find out who this girl was. Eventually, Jacqueline agreed to be in a relationship with this fake account and Jennifer was able to ask and receive her log in info from her!

Apparently her real name is Tracey! Jennifer goes on to explain that she changed the settings/password on the account and ended up closing the account. Way to go, Jennifer!

Nev and Max do a quick Facebook search with the new identity and find her!

Will the real Jacqueline please stand up?

Nev and Max meet Falesha's friends to give her an update on their findings.

Falesha is surprised by what they found. Nev shows her Tracey's account. Falesha says she has never seen this girl in her life and is overwhelmed with this information. Nev decides that they need to make contact with Tracey and hopeful meet up with this girl to find out why she is doing all of this. Falesha agrees that Nev should make contact so he leaves the building to call her up.

When the line finally picks up a bubbly young sounding girl answers and doesn't seem surprised, nor fazed that Nev has contacted her out of the blue. When questioned about her connection to Falesha, she instantly replies, "Falesha Linkwood? Yep, that's me!"

What the hell....

"It's fun being her," - Tracey

I don't know about Nev, but I got the major creeps from hearing Tracey talk over the phone. She reminded me of a demented Harley Quinn. She was completely cheerful with all the repulsive things she's done to others online.

The next day, Nev, Max and Falesha head to Maryland where Tracey lives. They arrive at her house and prepare to knock on her door.

The door opens and here's the nutjob, I mean girl, Tracey.

Basically, Tracey explains the reason she did this was because she wanted to have an alter ego similar to the fictional character Hannah Montana... Wut?

"I was Tracey by day and Jacqueline by night!" - Tracey

Me:

Honestly, I think there is something majorly wrong with this girl. She's way too chipper with the sadistic online bullying she's done to people online. The whole time I was like, "What the fuck..."

The next day, they come back to visit with Tracey and her mom. Still, Tracey continues her peppy upbeat attitude.

Throughout the whole interview, she continues to laugh like this process is a joke. It's like she has the personality of an 8-year-old girl. She's delusional.  Her mother is aware that she stole pictures but does not realize that she's saying malicious things to people online. She tells her daughter to apologize, but she refuses while laughing.

Nev makes it clear that if she doesn't stop her actions then it could get her in big trouble. Surprisingly, it seems like after some explaining that Tracey starts to allow this to influence her. She tells them that she is a good person and will consider changing. But at the end of the day, she needs some help.

This was probably the most bizarre episode of Catfish that I have ever seen. It'll definitely go down as one of the more memorable episodes.
